Mission and Role

The Eritrean National Olympic Committee works to cultivate Olympic values and Olympism while supporting the excellence and sustainable competitiveness of Eritrean athletes in the Olympic Games. Its mission places strong emphasis on developing athletes, strengthening the national sport system, and encouraging disciplined participation in Olympic-related activities.

Eri-NOC’s vision is to see “A Nation proud of its Olympic athletes.” This vision reflects the Committee’s commitment to inspiring national pride through the achievements, discipline, and international representation of Eritrean athletes.

Mission and Role

Eri-NOC also plays a wider role in supporting national federations and promoting sport excellence across Eritrea. Through cooperation, capacity building, ethical standards, and improved sport management, the Committee contributes to creating a stronger environment where athletes, coaches, officials, and sport organizations can grow and perform effectively.

Building a Sustainable Sport System

The Committee is committed to developing a strong and sustainable sport system in Eritrea. Its work focuses on athlete development, capacity building, Olympic education, and the promotion of fair play, discipline, and integrity in sport. Its mission is to cultivate Olympism, support national federations, and contribute to Eritrea’s growing presence in the global sporting community. “It is really commendable that Eri-NOC has developed a four year (2022-
2025) strategic plan aiming to accelerate sport performance in Eritrea.
This aims to ensure that improvements or dynamism in our institutional
and management capacity have to go parallel to the improvements in
the performance of our athletes and provide momentum for further
sport excellence. I hope the strategic plan will play a considerable role in
accelerating sport development in Eritrea.” – The Commisioner’s message also adds.
