A partnership with purpose

Opportunity must reach the field

Olympic Solidarity is the IOC’s worldwide support system for National Olympic Committees. Its purpose is practical: help athletes prepare, develop coaches and sports administrators, strengthen national structures and carry Olympic values into communities.

For Eritrea, the most meaningful measure is not a funding headline. It is the pathway created when international resources, EriNOC coordination and federation expertise reach a young cyclist, an emerging runner, a coach or a women’s development programme.

01

Athletes

Preparation, competition access, health, nutrition and travel.

02

Coaches

Technical learning that multiplies across teams and generations.

03

Capacity

Stronger NOC and federation systems behind every performance.

How solidarity works

From global resources to local results

The programme works as a chain of responsibility. Each link matters: international funding, national coordination, technical delivery, athlete services and accountable competition outcomes.

STEP 01

Olympic revenues are channelled into development programmes for NOCs.

STEP 02

EriNOC planning

National priorities identify athletes, coaches and systems with the greatest potential.

STEP 03

Expert partners

International Federations and training centres add technical expertise and facilities.

STEP 04

Capacity that multiplies

High-performance opportunity

In November 2023, EriNOC sent six female athletes aged 17–21 to Kenya’s Kipchoge Keino High Performance Training Centre for 45 days of advanced altitude training.

The programme paired endurance development with anti-doping, nutrition, mental-health and reproductive-health education—an example of athlete preparation treated as a complete system rather than a single training block.
